WALKING AND ADVENTURE.
The Western Ghats are a great place to walk or trek. The terrain can be rugged or reasonably easy and there are superb opportunities for wildlife spotting. The chances of seeing rare birds or mammals increases dramatically if you can get away from the centres of activity – and the best way to do this is to walk. In some places there may be forest lodges or homestays to overnight in; elsewhere it is a matter of camping.

Cycling Trips
If you enjoy cycling and mountain scenery then why not include a few days cycling in your tour. We can offer a variety of cycling trips in and around Munnar. For example, you can take a one night/two day trip around Munnar with the night spent in a comfortable tented camp. Alternatively you can cycle from Munnar to Periyar, which takes three days, averaging 40km per day. The bicycles supplied are Trek/Rincon bikes with 21 gears and also included are guides, a mechanic and support vehicle, accommodation and all meals, passes and permits where necessary and first aid.

Munnar High
This three day/two night trek is through highly mountainous terrain. The eco-system is primarily shola-grassland type. This trekking and camping trip takes place in the tea growing area of Munnar. The mountains here are home to the endemic and highly endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The trek passes through typical tea country and sholas - the habitats of the Nilgiri Tahr, elephants and gaur (Indian bison). On the first day you will arrive at Silent Valley Tea Estate near Munnar. The trek starts at noon to Rodo Valley. Evening trek to Selva Malai for possible sightings of the endangered Nilgiri Tahrs. On the second day trek to Meesapulimala, the second highest peak south of the Himalayas. (2640 meters). The world’s highest tea estate – Kolukumalai - can be seen as well as the plains of the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu. The trek passes through (high altitude montane evergreen forests), rhododendrons forests, pine forests and spectacular valleys. Trek to Suryanelli camp. Arrive in time for lunch. Camp fire and dinner. On day three you depart the camp and proceed to your next destination.
