TAMIL NADU HOLIDAY – A
RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL TOUR
On this tour you will be experiencing most of the
highlights of Tamil Nadu. You will be staying in a
variety of accommodation including an eco friendly
resort, a heritage hotel, a 'Hindu' ancestral property
and a small resort adjacent to a cultural centre. You
spend time at the beach, visit some of the historic
temple towns of this fascinating state, stay in small
villages and see the beautiful countryside of the hill
stations and mountainous regions. You will have the same
car and driver throughout this trip, so it will give you
time to get to know your driver and build up a rapport.
This tour does not compromise on comfort, despite being

DAY 1
Arrive Chennai and transfer to Mahabalipuram. Two nights
at Mahabalipuram staying at the House of Mahabhs.
DAY 2
Full day in the area sightseeing or relaxing on the
beach.
DAY 3
Transfer to Pondicherry, the old French colony that
still retains the atmosphere of France. Two nights
staying at The Dune.
DAY 4
Full day in Pondicherry.
DAY 5
Transfer to Tanjore (old capital of the Chola kings).
There are a number of interesting temples that may be
visited on the way. Two nights in Tanjore. Overnight
Anandham.
DAY 6
Full day in Tanjore – sightseeing.
DAY 7
Transfer to Chettinad. Option to visit Trichy on the
way. Two nights at Chettinad with accommodation at
Visalam.
DAY 8
Full day in Chettinad.
DAY 9
Transfer to a rural area just outside the busy city of
Madurai and visit the enormous Sri Meenakshi Temple
complex in the heart of the old town. Two nights near
Madurai. Overnight at Kadambavanam.
DAY 10
Full day in the area to allow you time to fully
appreciate all the activities offered at this resort
which is part of a Cultural Centre.
DAY 11
Transfer to Pollachi. Two nights in Pollachi staying at
Shenbaga Vilaasam.
DAY 12
Full day in Pollachi enjoying the local activities
offered.
DAY 13
Transfer to Kurumbadi. Two nights in this area.
Accommodation at Kurumba Village.
DAY 14
Take the Nilgiri Mountain Railway (toy train) from the
bottom all the way to the top at Ooty. Sightseeing in
Ooty and Coonoor before returning to Kurumbadi.
DAY 15
Transfer to Coimbatore Airport. |

- This holiday requires a fair amount of
travelling as it covers quite a distance so you
may like to spend a bit longer at some places.
- From Madurai you could cross the Western Ghats
at Thekkady or Munnar and finish in Kerala.
- After Ooty transfer to Wayanad or the beach in
Northern Kerala.
