The whole of India is a photographer’s dream. It is so
picturesque with its spectacular scenery, historical sites
and colourful people (who, in the main, do not mind being
photographed at all). It is therefore difficult to know what
to include in this section as all our customers who are
interested in photography (and most of those who are not)
come home with fantastic photographs. If you like to
photograph landscapes then we would suggest you spend some
time in the Western Ghat mountains and the backwaters of
Kerala. If you like buildings then the historical sites of
Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are the places to head for. If you
like to photograph people, then they are everywhere – but in
particular you may like to photograph:
Pilgrims and Sadhus – Varkala, Kanyakumari, Madurai, Tanjore
& Trichy.
Tea Pickers – Munnar, Ooty & Coonoor.
Farmers – the rice growing areas of Palakkad, Kuttanad and
just about everywhere you look along the road between towns
and cities.
Often staying in a homestay in a village area will give you
more opportunities to wander out with your camera and
photograph the local people going about their everyday
activities.
