Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram), Kerala’s state capital, is also situated in the south. Trivandrum has an international airport and a good range of shops and markets as well as a palace, temple, museum and art gallery. Because the coast is so close most people stay at the beach, but there is a good range of business hotels in the city for people requiring an overnight stay before catching an early morning flight.
