Tourism is in its infancy here and there is a limited choice of places to stay. However, the area offers remote beaches and jungle and its own culture including the wonderfully extreme Folk Art called Theyyam. If you like to visit areas off the main tourist track, you will find the journey to the Malabar region well worth the effort.
