MUMBAI AIRPORT
Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International and Domestic
airports are 30 km and 25 km (respectively) north of the
city. Mumbai airport is India’s largest (spread over an
area of 1,450 acres) and most important aviation hub.
The heavy traffic means that the journey into the city
centre can be very long, extremely frustrating and if
you are trying to catch a flight rather scary. Therefore
if you are only in transit for one night it is a good
idea to remain in the airport area.
Note: The International airport was formerly called
Sahar Airport and the domestic, Santa Cruz and they are
often still referred to under the old names. |
